George was born in Hawk Springs, Wyoming on August 23, 1940. His family moved to Missouri when he was young. He has an extensive background in agriculture, including chemicals, fertilizer, cattle and farm equipment. He at one time in his youth was an aerial applicator. (crop duster)
George had a major interest in aviation and it continues today. He is qualified in several classes of aircraft including corporate jets and jumbo airliners.
George learned to fish with his mother and grandmother in the 1940's with very primitive equipment and that love continued through his development of a lead alternative fishing weight. George is a member of the International Committee of the International Game Fish Association. www.igfa.org. In 2008 George became a member of the National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame for his early development of environmentally safe fishing tackle www.freshwater-fishing.org .
